Position: Database Manager

Main Objective: To provide comprehensive management of school databases and provide support to the operations of our business, development, and admission offices

TRS is a premier independent preschool and elementary school in Raleigh, NC. Started as a parent cooperative in the 1950s, TRS has grown to serve more than 400 students per year. We are highly respected for our hands-on, child-centered approach to teaching and learning and our involvement of parents in classrooms and in supporting the operations of the school.

Database Manager Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide comprehensive database management including the operation, maintenance, and data entry for several school databases and systems including Blackbaud (Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge) and Google Groups and Users.
  • Coordinate student enrollment and roster data across software that requires this information
  • Administer the Blackbaud NetCommunity online portal by designing and updating templates and forms regularly in Blackbaud’s forms module.
  • Provide website support for Director of Admissions and Marketing using Finalsite Composer content management
  • Provide logistical support for parent volunteer committee sign-up and assignment systems
  • Generate a variety of database reports for Business Office, Admissions and Enrollment, Development, Marketing efforts
  • Serve as a database resource across the campus
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Extensive database experience and proficiency — preferably with Blackbaud.
  • Extensive experience and facility with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Time-management skills, the ability to multi-task under pressure, creative problem-solving skills, and strong organizational and project management skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to support organizational goals.
  • Ability to develop good rapport with parents, faculty and staff, and all others connected to the school -- embracing and supporting the school community.
  • Collaborative, positive and productive attitude.

Hours and Compensation

30 hours per week, 12 months per year
