Stephen Gaynor School is an independent, special education school for bright children with learning differences ages three to fourteen. Founded in 1962, Gaynor provides a rich, rigorous, and nurturing environment in which students gain the skills and confidence necessary to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. What truly distinguishes Gaynor is its individualized curriculum, designed to fit the learning styles of each and every child, paced at his/her level.


Stephen Gaynor School recently expanded to a two-building campus totaling nearly 80,000 square feet. The expansion has allowed the school to grow both academically and in the arts, reaching more children with learning differences.


Gaynor is known for attracting outstanding faculty and practitioners and is a leading special education school in New York City.


We are currently seeking a Database Manager to join our dynamic team.


Position Description:

This role will be an integral part of the development team, working closely with all members of the Advancement Office.  We seek an individual who can provide leadership in areas of gift processing, database integrity, data analysis and system enhancements.


Reports to: Director of Institutional Advancement


Duties and Responsibilities

Database Manager

Process all gifts and manage deposit, credit card, stock and online donation processes
Responsible for all acknowledgement letters for all constituencies and funds
Generate pledge reminders
Maintain records in Raiser’s Edge database and provide reports on prospects, donors, alumni, giving and events
Support any fundraising activity with database support
Work with Business Office to execute deposits, reconcile reports and prepare for audits
Provide weekly/monthly reports for status in campaign, annual fund and prospect management
Train and provide technical support for Advancement Team
Prepare all lists for Annual Report, annual appeal mailings and other development office mailings
Conduct research and provide briefings to development staff
Continually update and correct database records


Three to four years of Raiser’s Edge experience or other relevant development databases
Responsible person who takes pride in managing database
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as experience working on teams
Should have an understanding of alumni relations, annual giving, special events and constituent relations
Organized and independent worker
Superb communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
Strong attention to detail

Salary: commensurate with experience
