Summary
The Database/Research Manager is responsible for supporting all Capital Campaign prospect research and database functions as well as administering and processing the office’s day-to-day charitable contributions, donor records, and gift acknowledgments.
 
Reports to: Head of Development/Associate Director of Development

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Head of Development/Associate Director with all research on Capital Campaign prospects, foundations, and current donors 
  • Enter, process and deposit all charitable contributions including cash, pledge, payroll deductions, stock transactions, in-kind donations and matching gift requests. Ensure designated gifts are properly accounted with business office daily
  • Reconcile contribution deposits and designations with the Business Office on a monthly basis (integration with Financial Edge, July 2017)
  • Enter prospect and donor information into Raiser’s Edge 7 including contact updates, as well as campaign, solicitor, event and appeal tracking
  • Produce gift reports, lists (according to segmentation as needed), financial spreadsheets and customized reports
  • Produce general office mailings (i.e. mailing labels, solicitation letters, acknowledgment letters, email campaigns, invitations, pledge reminders, etc.) and customize as appropriate
  • Manage Online Express donation web pages and email templates
  • Support Head of Development/Associate Director with scheduling meetings, calendar coordination, and meeting preparations
  • Get daily mail from copy center
  • Attend after-hours special events for the Development Office.  Events include phonathons, Spring Benefit, Back to School Picnic, New Parent Dinners, and the 1984 Club Party
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Skills and Requirements
  • Must be able to understand CASE (Council in support of Aid to Secondary Education) gift acceptance standards as well as IRS regulations with regard to charitable giving and understanding how these apply to management and reporting of gift data in our system.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – demonstrated ability to exercise sensitivity and good judgment in dealing with staff and the public
  • Requires expertise with Raiser’s Edge 7 within the development field, as well as broad knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Access, and Mac 
  • Requires basic understanding of prospect research best practices and research reporting analysis
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight timeframes and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative, energy, integrity, sincerity and desire to find different ways to be engaged in the AIS community
  • Experience working in the development field
  • Independent school experience, as well as International experience a plus
