The University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy is actively seeking to fill the position of Dean of Instructional Technology. This regular, full-time, exempt position is available July 8, 2019.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Dean of Instructional Technology supports U of D Jesuit’s efforts to build a faculty proficient in technology and technology-supported pedagogy, and to equip students with 21st century skills. The Dean of Instructional Technology is responsible for developing and conducting training to accomplish this, and assessment to measure progress. The Dean of Instructional Technology also spearheads strategic initiatives including classroom technology upgrades, learning management software, and student devices such as a one-to-one program.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Dean of Instructional Technology…

  • Cooperatively teaches the Digital Literacy curriculum.

  • Teaches the Computer Support and Networking Course.

  • Develops faculty proficiency in technology and technology-supported pedagogy.

  • Supports faculty and Information Technology in day-to-day operations.

  • Administers the school’s Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Oversees e-Books testing, evaluation, management and use.

  • Advances the school’s strategic plan through Instructional Technology.

  • Adheres to policies related to boundaries with students.

  • Attends required abuse risk management training.

  • Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising students.

  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.

  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs

 

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be supportive of the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person. The position requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which result in strong relationships with a broad variety of people. Excellent organizational skills are necessary for success in this position. Strong academic experience and credentials and strong computer skills are also required. A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the level of secondary education is required, and the candidate must have attained at least a Bachelor’s Degree. A Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have experience with administrating Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle), training adult learners, and using classroom technology including interactive whiteboards, tablets, document cameras, and related software.

 

SALARY: Commensurate with degree(s) and experience.
