Reporting to the Head of School and serving as a member of the SMLS senior leadership team, the newly created position of Deputy Head & Head of Academics and Innovation is responsible for setting high academic standards, introducing and guiding innovative and best practice in class programs and a 21s t-century learning environment, building and integrating curriculum across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools, guiding all faculty performance, growth, and professional development, and creating efficiencies and innovation through educational technology. This individual will play a key role in the strategic direction of SMLS, and have various leadership and operational responsibilities within the School.
The new Deputy Head & Head of Academics and Innovation will have graduate degrees and demonstrated senior-level educational leadership experience, preferably in an independent school. In addition, this individual will possess exceptional leadership abilities, high-level strategic planning and presentation skills, the ability to leverage and integrate technology, excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated knowledge of girls’ development and educational needs.
