Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. One year experience in enterprise applications problem-solving, application development using an object-oriented language, web languages, and scripting.

Ability to work independently and routinely update director on results.  
Ability to contribute to group projects and work collaboratively as a member of a strong technical team. Strong problem-solving skills. Flexibility in work schedule; willingness to occasionally adjust work hours for the maintenance window is required: on Wednesdays between midnight and 8 A.M.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3 times a year between semesters; fiscal year end June 30 and July 1; and a few limited weekends as determined. Ability to travel for education, professional development, or conferences. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Work sample should include a written document of anything related to this line of work.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of the following programming languages and tools is desired: Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, PL/SQL.

Familiarity with scripting, working with web application servers (Apache Tomcat), databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and support tools (Git, Maven, Gradle).

Position Purpose

University Technology Services seeks an energetic and highly skilled developer for work on a variety of core enterprise application systems and solutions in support of the university mission. This position is involved with exciting technical projects using current software and development tools. Also, the individual contributes to team research and selection of emerging technologies used to enhance Banner (the university ERP) and provide interfaces with other third party systems. The incumbent is a member of a team that performs development, testing, troubleshooting, and user support of new processes, upgrades, and new application development.
