SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Laurence School is seeking an energetic and creative Development professional who will report to the Director of Development. The Development/Database Coordinator will be responsible for providing significant and substantive support to the Director of Development in executing Laurence’s annual giving campaign, which raises more than $800,000 and is growing. This position requires: excellent attention to detail; a comfort using database systems, such as Raiser’s Edge, Senior Systems, or Salesforce; the ability to create reports and presentations to help high-level administrators demonstrate accomplishments and goal fulfillment; discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information; the ability to create event budgets and organize event logistics; ease and comfort in communicating with a variety of the school’s constituents, including parents, grandparents, and alumni; and a friendly, customer-service oriented disposition. The Annual Fund/Database Coordinator will provide critical support in the day-to-day execution of all fundraising efforts, in addition to the annual giving campaign, including capital campaigns, fundraising and donor events, letter and email campaigns, and donor cultivation and appreciation. These efforts provide significant financial support to help Laurence accomplish its overall mission.

The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in the areas of fundraising and donor information and data management; the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment; strong writing and proofreading skills; and appreciation and passion for Laurence's mission. Some experience with event support is a plus. Bachelor’s Degree required. The salary for the position is highly competitive.

Primary Responsibilities :

The Development/Database Coordinator’s major function is to support multiple Development Office initiatives, thereby promoting Laurence School’s mission of educating the “Total Child”.

--Manage the school’s donor information and database (in Senior Systems) to ensure they are fully utilized to support the school’s fundraising efforts.
--Become our school’s expert and go-to person for our Senior Systems development database, including proactively taking advantage of training opportunities, ensuring that all data is categorized to maximize usability, updating all constituent records as needed, producing donor lists for all development mailings and events, and creating donor tracking reports.
--Create queries, produce reports, and perform data analysis for the Head of School, Director of Development, and Development Committee of the Board of Trustees.
--Oversee the donation acknowledgment process, including tracking and ensuring all gifts are properly entered and acknowledged.
--Work closely with the Business Office to reconcile all Development-related financial records.
Assist in the coordination of prospect research and updating the prospect database.
--Provide overall support to the Director of Development for all fundraising and development events, such as donor cultivation and appreciations events, as well as parent association fundraising events.

--Demonstrated skills and experience in successfully planning and implementing events.
--Possesses the technological/computer proficiency necessary to be successful in this position – Mac computer skills, database management, mail merge and Excel.
--Ability to work some evenings and weekends and to be flexible with respect to work hours as they pertain to special events
--Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time during event-related activities and ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
