The Digital Communications Producer will be responsible for multi-media multi-channel content production and presentation reporting to the Director of Communications and collaborating with the Editor, Writers, Storytellers, Videographers, Photographers, and other colleague, contractor, community, volunteer, and student content creators.  The Producer’s responsibilities may include but not be limited to:  

  • Maintain, evolve, and implement all content production and presentation policies and practices.
  • Manage the implementation of Finalsite and the transition of our existing sites and content to the new platform in conjunction with vendor implementation consultants and our internal technology team.
  • Monitor channels, programs, and content for accuracy, relevance, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and impact.
  • Oversee all content production and presentation, including written, graphic, photographic, audio, video, and multimedia, distributed through all channels, including web, email, print, social media, digital signage, etc.
    • Produce all internal content and communications, including on the internal website as well as weekly, seasonal, ad hoc, and special event communications and presentations reinforcing the mission, pedagogy, program, Notably Nueva characteristics and experiences, and life of the school [Nueva Notes, annual report, annual calendar, school letters, speeches, etc.].
    • Produce all external content and communications, including maintaining the external website as a dynamic, informative, and up-to-date multimedia website that communicates the mission, pedagogy, program, Notably Nueva characteristics and experiences, and life of the school.
    • Coordinate production with content owners and creators
  • Help maintain all content archives.
  • Support admissions, development, faculty/staff recruitment, college relations, outreach (Innovative Learning Conference, Common Ground, summer student programs, summer teacher training programs, etc.), publications (Journal, etc.), advertising, media relations, and capital campaign needs.
  • Assist in developing and producing strategic communications, branding, and public relations plans and programs for the school. 
  • Promote consistent production and presentation across all departments, divisions, campuses, and programs.
  • Help manage the annual communications calendar.
  • Other duties as required / assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven strategic and creative thinker, producer, and hands on doer..
  • Exceptional hands-on communications skills including production, presentation, and design.
  • Outstanding public relations and marketing abilities via social media, internet, and print.
  • Experience with video and multimedia content creation and production.
  • Demonstrated success supporting acquisition and retention campaigns.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic, start-up type environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with current software, technologies, and practices including use of web and social media platforms.
    • Finalsite, WordPress, Joomla, and/or Drupal
    • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Digital asset management and photo archives
    • Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign
  • Actively engaged in professional development and current on best practices .
  • Interest in and understanding of education broadly and independent school, college, and nonprofit environments specifically.
  • Demonstrated planning and project management skills.  Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong team player.  Experience leading and engaging all stakeholders – trustees, colleagues, parents, students, alumni, other donors, partners, and volunteers.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple, conflicting, and changing needs.
  • Personable, positive, helpful personality; customer service mindset.
  • A sense of humor.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including portfolio of relevant work.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field - digital / media arts, graphic design, web design, media production, communications, journalism, English, etc.
