Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking an experienced, creative and strategic Director of Academic and Information Technology to provide dynamic leadership, vision, and direction for school-wide technology.  Reporting to the Assistant Head of School and working closely with administrative and division heads, department leaders and the Innovation Team, this position  will deliver improvements in the overall quality of education and the overall effectiveness of efficiency of school operations through various technology initiatives. 
 
The successful candidate will be an exceptional leader, able to inspire all stakeholders with a vision for technology at Agnes Irwin, while skillfully bridging communication gaps and encouraging collaboration. This role requires an individual with a hands-on leadership style, who relishes engaging with colleagues and direct reports on both strategic and operational matters.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of a collaborative process to develop a strategic vision and multi-year plan for technology that is aligned to the school’s overall strategic plan, values, culture, and departmental needs.

  • Participate in and lead school management discussions around IT initiatives, including project scoping, project approval, project execution, cost management, and all internal and external relationships related to technology platforms; serve as primary project manager for school-wide technology projects

  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating the academic and information technology specialists inspiring innovation and a strong customer service orientation; ensure for the performance, maintenance, and integrity of all technology systems with a focus on innovation, security, and efficiency

  • Develop policy, regulations, system standards, and operating procedures for use of technology; implement a school-wide technology training program

  • Manage all IT vendor relationships, manage IT budget and work in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer to find efficiencies and cost savings

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or another related discipline plus 7 to 10 years of progressive IT experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Prior management or supervisor experience leading customer-service oriented teams and budget oversight is required

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning, delivery, project management and policy development is required; proven experience designing enterprise information security policy and operating informational technical environments

  • Previous experience working in higher education or K-12 schools is highly desirable; knowledge of best practices in academic and information technology; teacher-lead orientation with a willingness and ability to implement professional development training for faculty and staff

  • Outstanding communication, project management and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service orientation are required; ability to work effectively with all members of the School community
