National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for a Director of Academic Technology to serve grades 4-12. The position is full-time and begins July 1, 2016. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with all NCS employees to develop and implement a cohesive academic technology vision and curriculum. In addition, this position will supervise the academic technology team (2-3 teachers) and extra-curricular programs related to technology.

Qualified candidates have pertinent teaching experience, a background in working with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom, as well as relevant curriculum evaluation and development experience. Responsibilities include: designing professional development workshops for faculty, collaborating with department chairs and others on curricular technology integration, developing STEM-related programming, and supporting faculty, as well as troubleshooting technical problems. This position will also include teaching a section of AP Computer Science or comparable class. NCS promotes a student-centered pedagogy and a developmentally appropriate use of technology that is grounded in a one-to-one iPad program in the Lower School. ISTE standards support the school’s goals of developing technology skills and computational thinking. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Salaries are competitive, based on experience.
