Full-time position reporting to Assistant Head of School.

The Director of Academic Technology is responsible for the school-wide leadership, development, implementation, and oversight of instructional technology, in support of the school's mission, goals and objectives in a quickly changing educational environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Management:

Provide strategic leadership for the school's integration of emerging technologies, pedagogies, and practices for student-centered learning
Maintain awareness and engage community in exploration and discussion of educational and informational technology-related trends
Facilitate publication and communication of the school's vision for 'Modern Learning' and the status of current initiatives
Coordinate with division administration to structure process for systematic review and evaluation of educational technology and classroom innovations
Manage all academic technology and library services operations (e.g. planning, developing objectives, implementing actions, monitoring activities, budgeting, etc.)
Coordinate with IT Department, NCIS and CAIS regarding the campus-wide network infrastructure to identify needs and plan future projects and implementations
Oversee the academic technology and library budget in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer
Maintain involvement in both Bay Area and international educational communities to publicize the school's initiatives and innovations
Serve as member of team in research, discussion, and implementation of innovative learning spaces that best fit school's goals and needs
Identify, cultivate, and sustain relationships with current and prospective donors
Manage immediate supervision of academic technology coordinators and librarians, including hiring, supervision, and evaluation

Operations and Support:

Act as a systems resource (grade book, email, website, etc.)
In collaboration with administration, develop opportunities for faculty to grow professionally
Support teachers with planning, co-teaching and reflection of technology integration strategies
Consult with administrators, staff, and faculty to help prioritize technology related needs and requests
Build parent understanding and support of learning with technology
Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Master's Degree or equivalent preferred
Teaching experience is a plus
Demonstrated excellent supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal and
Leadership skills
Demonstrated organizational skills in handling and directing multiple and complex assignments and projects
Proficiency in information technology (Mac, Windows, iOS)
Ability to articulate strategy and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to adapt and learn new skills to meet changing job conditions and requirements
Ability to communicate in French a plus
Understanding of French-American bicultural environment a plus
