Lawrence School seeks a talented educator to serve in an administrative capacity as Director of Academic Technology and Learning Support. The focus of the position is on providing leadership in the training and implementation of assistive technology tools for 250 students and 35 teachers in a small, independent school designed specifically to serve students with learning differences. One-on-one and small group support for students as they learn to effectively utilize assistive technology tools is the primary focus of the position. The position also includes considerable interface with teachers as they learn and develop their skills in the use of assistive technology to support student learning. Assisting parents, community members and staff in other schools to successfully utilize assistive technology tools is also an aspect of the position. The Director serves on the Academic Leadership Team and is charged with making recommendations for classroom accommodations and interventions that support student learning. 

The ideal candidate possesses knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of students who struggle with learning and attention differences. A passion for assisting students in meeting their academic, social and personal goals is essential, as is the ability to connect with parents, community members and staff in other schools toward the goal of making learning accessible to all through the use of assistive technology. 

The candidate selected to fill the role must possess a Master’s degree in Assistive Technology or a related field and an Ohio Department of Education license as an Intervention Specialist. 

Lawrence School is the only independent school in Northeast Ohio for students with distinct learning styles. Eighty-five percent of our graduates matriculate to two and four-year colleges.
