Experience and Other Skills Required

Three years of progressively responsible experience in the design and development of online learning programs.

Strong knowledge of instructional design theory and practices as well as learning theory and practices.

Knowledge of online learning, pedagogy, andragogy, and learning technologies to support online, hybrid, and/or flipped course delivery in a business school context.

Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.

Ability to develop and implement policy, guidelines and procedures at the administrative level.

Understanding of ADA compliance requirements for accessibility.

Experience with LMS (Blackboard preferred)

E-learning authoring platforms (Articulate Storyline or similar)

Description of Job Duties

Collaborate with key decision makers to create the UTSA College of Business online initiatives brand consistent with COBacademic standards and ensure courses are developed and delivered with the high quality consistent with that brand.

Identify tools and platforms for the creation, delivery and maintenance of technology-enabled learning, managing the selection and acquisition of tools and resources to ensure maximum return on investment.

Identify, procure, and manage facilities for the development and delivery of education technology projects for use by faculty, staff, and students.

Oversee the design, development, production, and implementation of selected online courses and programs across COBprograms in collaboration with faculty, administration, platform partners, and online learning teams at the UTSA level.

Oversee creation of online courses, course series, video tutorials, and other education technology projects.

Provide training to faculty and staff to ensure creation of high quality learning experiences.

Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with university and ADA policies, procedures, and best practices in online learning across campus and globally.

Develop pedagogical standards and design guidelines for course and module development.

Identify and manage instructional designers and content developers.

Supervise staff, including student workers, project specialists, and assigned staff.

Conduct course technical and quality checks in line with industry-accepted rubrics.

Periodically attend conferences to stay informed of industry trends and developments.

Serve on relevant committees or task forces.
