The Awty International School seeks a Director of Educational Technology for the 2019-2020 school year and beyond.

The Director of Educational Technology will report the Chief Academic Officer and will work closely with Division Heads, Department Heads, and the Technology Team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Prior K -12 teaching experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Has an Advanced Degree in Education or Educational Technology related field

  • High level of competency with Senior Systems, Google Suite, Office 365 and learning management systems

  • A passion for educational technology and a respect for its place as one element among many in a strong, 21st-century educational program

  • A growth mindset and an openness to feedback as the means of achieving personal and professional growth

  • Experience as a classroom teacher in K - 12 independent /international school setting

  • Experience in successfully leading technological integration in a school

  • Bilingual in French or Spanish

Job Description This person will:

  • Develop, articulate, and implement Awty’s vision for Ed Tech integration

  • Work with academic leaders to create/maintain school-wide consistency for our many technology platforms that is both developmentally appropriate and preserves the autonomy of each division

  • Serve as a liaison between tech coaches and technology team

  • Evaluate emerging technology and assessment tools, and guide senior academic leaders on strategic and operational decisions involving instructional technology hardware, software, and programs

  • Assess the effectiveness of, and lead efforts to improve, the school’s implementation of technology tools for instructional purposes

  • Serve as Chair of Ed Tech Committee

  • Lead the campus transition into a new Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Provide and support faculty professional development opportunities in technology

  • Inspire the technology team and the broader faculty community to model and support best practices in innovation, technology integration, and instructional design

  • Establish strong partnerships with members of the faculty to develop and implement dynamic classroom projects involving technology integration

  • Maintain an active presence in the local, regional, and national educational technology communities

  • Ensure that all faculty members receive sufficient training and support to effectively utilize the school’s technological systems

  • Work with the technology team to develop the operational and capital technology budgets, and anticipate future technology needs to meet the strategic goals of the school

  • Establish and evaluate educational technology policies, procedures, and processes

  • Lead the continued development of the integration of technology into the Awty curriculum and optimize the use of technology in teaching and learning
