Mission: 

The Director of Educational Technology provides leadership, planning, oversight, and management for all areas of technology strategy, development, and implementation. As a key member of our Leadership Team, inspire our community to model and support best practices in technology, innovation integration, and instructional design.

Outcomes:

  • Within 18 months, shift our organization's core environment  from Google to Microsoft

  • Create a comprehensive tech infrastructure that ensures clarity of communication across entire community and supports teaching, learning and operations with the best tools and training available

  • Identify and support the training of a cadre of cutting edge educators using tech wisely in classrooms with enthusiasm

  • Lead the effort to make the school the best known in Northern Nevada for STEAM opportunities and help champion the campaign for a new Innovation / STEAM facility 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Oversee daily activity of IT functionality and ensure SRS technology infrastructure maintains or exceeds all service level goals and security goals 

  • Develop and maintain IT project roadmap and serve as project manager for all IT endeavors

  • Develop and manage Technology budgets, policies, and procedures 

  • Manage Systems Administrator employee; co-manage the team of technology teachers

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for technology integration and instructional design to support the use of innovative tools and methods by faculty and students

  • Oversee the whole school technology curriculum

  • Design, deliver, and manage major professional development and growth experiences for faculty in areas of technology integration and curricular innovation

  • Serve on or lead committees related to technology

  • Maintain an active presence in local to international educational technology communities

  • Other duties as assigned by Head of School

Partner with the Systems Administrator: 

  • Select and manage external vendors

  • Evaluate and recommend technology based solutions

  • Develop a high level understanding of new technologies and how they interact with the Sage Ridge System as a whole

  • Create documentation and tutorials focused on classroom, office, and school-wide technology initiatives

  • Provide training on classroom, office, and school-wide technology initiatives

  • Develop and enforce school security policies and consult on technical disciplinary issues

 

Competencies Required:

  • Creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility, leadership, patience, persistence and embodiment of our Pillars

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and five years of leadership experience in information technology. Direct experience with technology in education

  • Proven track of developing a multi year strategic plan for technology adoption as well as ensuring day-to-day operational stability

  • Deep understanding of current and emerging IT infrastructure and operations, technologies, and practices. Ability to be a ‘super-user’ to demonstrate and integrate best practices
