Georgetown Visitation, founded in 1799, is an all-girls high school rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition, committed to educating young women from diverse backgrounds. Visitation is currently searching for a full-time Director of Educational Technology.  There is flexibility for this to be an 11- or 12-month position.


The Director of Educational Technology leads the school community in the development and enhancement of a collaborative, coherent, mission-aligned vision and program for educational technology. Working closely with the Principal and the President, the Director sets the course for effective orientation, integration, and improvement of educational technology resources to enhance teaching, learning, and school life. 


The ideal candidate is energetic and is eager to educate and guide young women at this critical time in their lives, as well as to collaborate closely with colleagues to create an excellent, comprehensive, and cohesive technology and STEM program at the school.  Additionally, candidates should be able to challenge talented young women to grow in critical thinking and creative problem solving and implement teaching methods that serve diverse learning styles.


As educators in the Visitation tradition, our teachers form lives as well as impart knowledge. We’re seeking a candidate who can help students understand how technology skills and design thinking can be applied to address real-world challenges, nurturing and inspiring students as they learn to use their skills for the betterment of the world around us. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Works with and for teachers in integrating technology into appropriate aspects of the curriculum to enhance learning
  • Communicates with teachers to evaluate the success of technological integration, areas for growth and necessary changes that impact teachers’ classrooms students, and daily work
  • Encourages faculty and student exploration of innovative tools to support experimentation
  • Researches new technological trends and evaluates their sustainability/relevance for the community
  • Offers large/small group and personalized instruction and technology support for faculty
  • Works with the Dean of Faculty to develop professional opportunities for teachers
  • Orients and provides ongoing support to ensure technological skills necessary for student success in school
  • Supports the registrar, faculty, admissions staff, and Board of Directors in fully utilizing the School Information System (SIS)/Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Administers the school’s Mobile Device Management System (MDMS)
  • Serves on the Senior Team and Curriculum Committee to support effective strategic planning and daily operations
  • Develops the school Educational Technology and STEM budgets annually
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison with the school’s educational technology contracted services partner
  • Supervises the Network Administrator
  • Teaches a class as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:  Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, along with relevant teaching experience, preferably in an independent/Catholic high school setting, and background in working with teachers to support and deepen their technological interests and skills. Proficiency/Adaptability in Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems (Veracross preferred). Proficiency in Mobile Device Management Systems/Apple Classroom. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and iPad technology. The ability to respond to and recommend technological changes. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills and the ability to nurture relationships with diverse constituencies.  Possibly carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry or otherwise move objects, and ability to move around campus and into several non-ADA compliant buildings.
