Full-time position beginning September, 2016.

The Director of Educational Technology will lead and develop a digital learning plan that meets the current and future needs of a dynamic 21st century learning environment. This role will support high quality instruction and ensure that digital learning is supporting our strategic priority of teaching excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Academics and working closely with faculty, the Director of Educational Technology is responsible for implementing strategic direction, managing an information and educational technology team who will identify, select, and implement appropriate technology solutions to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effectively coaching and mentoring staff, a strong collaborative mindset and will also be an exceptional communicator, with deep knowledge of the role that technology plays in enhancing outstanding teaching and learning.

Responsibilities include:

Providing strategic leadership and direction on the planning, deployment and implementation of leading edge educational technology resources, pedagogy, best practices and research;
Developing, monitoring and updating a cohesive vision for the implementation of educational technology in the School that best aligns with our mission, vision and strategic priorities;
Leading and supporting the technology services to ensure our technology infrastructure supports our educational priorities;
Mentoring and collaborating with our teaching staff to ensure effective implementation of educational technologies and related pedagogical strategies.

Qualifications/Competencies:

A visionary leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and meaningful leadership experience in an educational setting;
A strong collaborative and team approach to implementing strategic priorities;
Appropriate post-secondary education in Computer Science/ Programming/ Networking or Educational Technology and Curriculum;
Master’s level education in Information Technology, Curriculum or Administration is an asset;
Experience with supporting teachers to integrate technology in the classroom across a full range of academic disciplines and key stages;
Experience in delivering professional development through a variety of media (face to face, online, etc.) including presentations and conference workshops;
Demonstrated knowledge in IT functions, processes and capabilities (e.g., networking, security, infrastructure, information management, cloud technologies, etc.);
Familiarity with Google Apps for Education, Moodle, and fluency with Apple and Microsoft products;
Teaching certification in British Columbia is considered a strong asset.
