Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director for Educational Technology Strategy at the Office of Education at the Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Director reports to the Chief Academic Officer Designee of both RWJMS and NJMS to provide strategic analysis and educational technology leadership across the schools. The schools need a responsive and nimble educational technology platform to support competency-based medical education, active learning strategies, longitudinal monitoring of learners professional growth, and support of distributed education.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Research, develop and recommend prioritization, budgeting and resource planning in support of delivering world-class technology-enhanced learning spaces and educational technology solutions to the academic community.

  • Conducts an on-going needs assessment across schools of staffing and resources to support educational technologies, and propose a model for a productive, energetic, responsive, and diverse team to support the school’s increasing technological needs and expectations.

  • Provides leadership for and be responsible for implementing technology that helps develop innovative course content, and new teaching & learning experiences.

  • Provides leadership for the deployment of tools, solutions and platforms needed for these distinctive educational experiences.

  • Partners with faculty, staff and students to set school strategy for creating distinctive and innovative educational experiences using technology both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Promotes and supports teaching and learning innovations at the School; actively serves as an adviser for faculty, students and staff on best practices for integrating technology into teaching and learning and proposes solutions for the same.

  • Develops and manages innovative and effective teaching and learning technologies and learning spaces in support of the educational enterprise.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree.

  • Experience in an academic institution and with managing complex information technology issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher Education Leadership, Educational Technology, or Communications major.

  • Experience in deploying and managing technology tools and solutions. 

  • Experience in educational computing, multimedia technology, application development and new learning technologies.

  • Experience of identifying technology tools and solutions that can meet the teaching/learning needs of the school.

  • Understanding of multiple learning assessment methods and data analyses.
