The primary purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate support for information and instructional technologies for the college's faculty, staff, and students. Duties will include the development, implementation, and update of CNR's Education and Information Technology plan; coordination of the University, College and Departmental educational and administrative computing resources and support; facilitation of educational and information technology training with departments and other college units; and enhancement of the college's information resources (e.g. distance education, web presence, etc.). The individual will coordinate a team of computing/IT professionals whose mission is to ensure the efficient use of available networked computing resources and advancement of the college's use of information technologies in the areas of instruction, and administration, research, and extension. The position will require extensive day-to-day contact with college and university faculty and staff. The position will recommend guidelines for procedures for the effective and efficient use of information technology resources. Specific activities include: 1. Serve as overall manager of CNR's instructional and administrative computing services. Fulfilling responsibilities requires the ability to interact with all levels of administration and customer bases, including CNR faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students. 2. Serve as a liaison to the University's IT Strategic Advisory Committee, Academic IT Directors Committee, Campus IT Directors Committee, and other campus IT agencies. 3. Provide insight and guidance to faculty and staff on purchasing hardware and software. 4. Building liaison for Biltmore. 5. Supervise Technical Support Staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Natural Resources, Instructional Technology, Information Technology or other related field, or equivalent experience and certifications. 1. Five to eight years' experience assisting with the management of information or educational technology programs preferably in higher education. 2. Strong human relations and communication skills. 3. Some experience managing web-based training/education projects. Experience synthesizing and interpreting educational research. 4. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively on technology development projects. 5. Demonstrated advanced expertise with one or more of the following: Telecommunications, Academic Technology, and User Support.
