Position Summary

Direct and lead the Silver School of Social Work IT’s Office in establishing overall technological operations and programmatic goals. Develop and implement IT plans, as well as applications, processes and initiatives that best support the academic mission of the School. Ideate and execute IT projects from design and development to production, and ensure proper staffing, resources, and infrastructure for fundamental IT support (e.g., help desk, training, on site tech support) as well as future innovation. Develop and oversee operational standards and practices for the school’s service desk, classroom online learning, ed tech and research technology. Supervise full-time and student technical service technicians and provide highest level support as needed. Serve as a liaison with central Information Technology Services (ITS) and outside technology stakeholders in integrating business services information to our Silver community. Manage School-wide databases, systems, and servers and ensure integrity of data. In collaboration with the School's Communications department, manage the School’s website, serving as technical lead and leading CMS support and training (Adobe Experience Manager). Establish computing policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing and systems support.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in information technology or instructional design.

Required Experience:
7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience must include directing and leading an IT Office in a higher education environment, including building IT infrastructure, developing and implementing information management systems, staff management and budget management.

Preferred Experience:
7+ years Demonstrated success as an information technology manager within a large and complex University.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to monitor and analyze problems. Excellent communication, problem solving and design skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex and multifaceted projects. Collaborative, intuitive and ability to lead with clarity and direction. Ability to provide technical advice to a non-technical audience. Knowledge of current information technologies and systems including systems development, data warehousing, Macintosh, UNIX, MS Windows operating systems, and large database applications.
