The Director of Information Technology reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations and is responsible for the daily operation of the School’s Information Technology department. As the Head of School or Director of Finance and Operations may determine appropriate, these job responsibilities may be changed due to changes in enrollment, or for other reasons. The Director of Information Technology’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for on-the-ground computer and network troubleshooting, upgrades to computers and application software, training and technical support to end users oversight of the School’s buildings, vehicles and equipment maintenance
  • Oversee IT Associate and student interns
  • Develop a strategic and long-range technology plan for the School
  • Provide leadership, vision, and day-to-day management of the IT department, including data network and backup systems, firewall and security issues, databases, servers, printers and telephone systems
  • In collaboration with administrators and Department Heads, identify, evaluate, and recommend new and emerging technologies for classroom and administrative uses or to improve the current infrastructure
  • In conjunction with the Director of Special Education and the Director of Academics, promote the use of technology to support classroom learning and optimize student achievement
  • In collaboration with the marketing and communications department, oversee the technical side of the school’s web content platform
  • Develop and manage the school’s computer device operating and IT budget
  • Manage vendor relations, procurement, installation, and implementation of the information systems
  • Ensure the coordination, security, and efficiency of the network infrastructure
  • Remain current on new developments in the areas of software, hardware, networks, telecommunications training, and maintenance
  • Manage inventory of all school-owned or leased equipment including desktops/laptop computers, iPads, SMART boards, projectors, copiers, printers, cell phones, etc.
  • Provide maintenance and support for all computer labs, classroom technology, office technology, and audio-visual systems throughout the school
  • Assess and respond to IT needs as voiced by faculty, administration and staff
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Plan and supervise internal and external training of the school’s staff
  • Assume responsibility for other projects as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
