The Director of Information Technology is the campus leader on information technology and has the overall responsibility for the Office of Information Technology. The Director is the leader in developing plans for the information technology infrastructure and for the integration of information technology into its research and instructional activities. The Director has the overall responsibility for the campus-wide information technology infrastructure and for the coordination of campus-wide information technology services not under the direct control of the Office of Information Technology.

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for support in areas including systems management, network and database administration, programming, operations, maintenance, academic and library support, telecommunications, and instructional technology, including distance education. The Director of Information Technology provides direction, leadership, planning, and management for the development, acquisition, and support of campus-wide information technology systems and infrastructure, both instructional and administrative, and for the coordination of campus-wide information technology services not under the direct control of the Office of Information Technology. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Development.

QUALIFICATIONS
·Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technology area; Master's degree preferred.
·Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in higher education.
·Minimum of 3-5 years of managing a customer service-oriented IT unit, including website and application development and delivery, systems administration, cyber safety, and desktop support.
·Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience, including recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, assessing performance and communication skills, and providing accurate and timely feedback.
·Experience building cohesive, productive technology teams, by providing advanced technical review, guidance, and leadership; creating structures and practices that allow for staff to continuously upgrade capabilities; and encouraging collaboration and development of best practices.
·Experience providing leadership as demonstrated by an understanding of the College mission and strategic priorities, and cultivation of internal and external relationships with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
·Interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated by effective interactions with others and clear articulation of organizational goals.
·Experience making group presentations and training both technical and non-technical personnel.
·Experience with Jenzabar.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
·Provide campus-wide information technology planning, leadership, and networking services such as the administration internet domain, domain names services, and the management of the campus web-server.
·Provide leadership for the College in planning and implementing information and instructional technology initiatives consistent with the College's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
·Manage the strategic and tactical deployment of information and instructional technology resources to carry out the teaching, learning, and administrative activities of the College.
·Oversee the implementation of network security issues.
·Exercise staff oversight to ensure new operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the College's goals and objectives.
·Direct and supervise staff to provide support for instructional and administrative systems.
·Assume administrative responsibility for all aspects of information technology services including planning, budgeting, supervision, evaluation.
·Provide leadership in anticipating future technological needs while being aware of developments in computer and educational technology and recommending College actions as part of strategic planning efforts.
·Ensure department is well informed, at all times, of any changes or news worthy events within the College community.
·Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to the administration.
·Oversee the planning and management of the College's telephone system and manage upgrade efforts.
·Oversee the management of the help desk activities and resolve escalated issues as necessary.
·Serve as a resource in matters of information and instructional technology services for all units of the College.
·Help establish and build relationships with vendors in conjunction with College leadership.
·Represent the College on matters related to information and instructional technology in state, regional, and national forums.
·Accountable for the implementation of new systems and major modifications to existing systems
·Coordinate implementation and maintenance of application software by developing partnerships with vendors, technical resource providers, and other colleges
·Responsible for Jenzabar and other systems, such as voice and data communications, essential to the functioning of the College
·Advise the President on technology issues
·Other duties as assigned.
