Greensboro Montessori School seeks a passionate individual who can lead the technology efforts of our students, faculty, and administration. We are an independent school with approximately 225 students and 50 employees, and we know that technology is both a language and a tool for learning. With the ever-expanding role of technologies in schools, we need an individual who is both well-versed in current educational technology and who is able to quickly research and understand future potentials – someone who is ready for today and able to dream with us about tomorrow. The director of information technology interacts with all constituents of our School, so interpersonal skills are very important: communication, patience, the ability to inspire, and a customer-service oriented approach to training community members (be they a technophile or technophobe) are all key. For work-ethic, we seek someone with intense organization and follow through, impeccable attention to detail, a desire to take initiative, and the ability to have fun while working hard. The position is full time, available immediately, and comes with benefits and compensation commensurate with experience. While experience in school-based IT work is not required, a love of learning is required. Qualified candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with advanced degrees or training preferred. The director of information technology is responsible for the following tasks: - Manage all information technology and computer systems, software and hardware (iOS & Mac OS; Google Suite; SmartBoard; Constant Contact; Blackbaud; Brightwheel; MacBook Airs and PC; ChromeBooks, iPads; iPods; high-end visual-audio equipment) - Partner with staff on web-based and technology-based solutions to support the School Design, implement, and coordinate technology systems, policies and procedures - Develop a technology vision and plan that includes future direction and purchases - Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems Share resources and training that can support curriculum and educational best practices - Support STEAM and other specific curricular areas, such as teaching coding classes - Manage annual technology budget, purchases, and repair needs - Lead technology training and education for staff - Manage service and maintenance of printers, copy machines, and telephone system - Partner with and manage outside any needed IT specialty support services If you are interested in this position, please email a cover letter and résumé to Heather Goggin, director of human resources, at heather.goggin@thegms.org. 2856 Horse Pen Creek Rd Greensboro, NC 27410-9700.
