Westtown School, a PK- 12 Quaker college preparatory day and boarding school of 665 students located on a 600 acre campus in West Chester, PA, is seeking a Director of Information Technology (IT). The successful candidate will be a visionary leader and innovator, will build successful working relationships with cross-functional teams as well as internal and external stakeholders, and will serve as our technology ambassador for our administrative technology and academic innovation teams.

 

The Director of IT reports to the Chief Financial Officer and participates in decision-making with the authority to execute their responsibilities in a supportive and collegial environment. We seek a leader who will work collaboratively with our constituents to support innovative approaches to 21st Century teaching and learning while delivering the infrastructure to support this learning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pedagogy, technical proficiency, systems thinking, a passion for innovation, and a desire to work in a creative and thriving environment.

The Director of IT will be responsible for inspiring, communicating, and implementing the school’s technology vision throughout the organization. The Director will provide direction and leadership to the Tech Team, which consists of four professionals in the areas of network engineering, database management, and technical support services.  As it relates to technology, this Director will also be responsible for capital and operational budgeting, industry benchmarking, professional development, contract negotiations, asset procurement, and safeguarding.

The Director of IT will collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement a long-range strategic technology plan. The Director will also be responsible for leading the process of making recommendations regarding the school’s campus-wide student information system.

Education and experience desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in progressively responsible technology positions
