Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Director of Information Technology Services. This is an upper level technical management position that reports to the Director of Administration. The position is responsible for all facets of computer and technological services within Katz Graduate School of Business including teaching, research, and administrative support. The individual supervises the computer support staff, serves as an advocate for computing and related technologies in the School, provides leadership in managing computer services projects and maintains a dialogue with Katz School staff, faculty, and students and with staff in CSSD and other central technology organizations at the University.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Must have a thorough understanding of current computing technology and future trends, especially network-based systems and systems of technology-based instruction.

Must be able to foster effective relations with customer groups.

Must be able to effectively manage the computer and technological services staff.

Must be able to provide leadership in the application of computer systems for research, instruction, and administration.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical area and significant post-graduate work in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or Telecommunications and 7-10 years experience in a related technical area with demonstrated managerial experience within a technical field.
