Keystone School seeks a full-time Director of Innovation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, innovation, and working with teachers and students, and administrators. This is a 12-month administrative position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the innovation department by creating a vision of using technology and innovative teaching and learning practices in the K-12 classroom.

  • Collaborate with division heads teachers in planning the integration of technology into the curriculum and supporting teachers as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.
    Assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences.

  • Teach STEM elective classes for middle school.

  • Adhere to and communicate digital ethics, safety and copyright laws and guidelines pertaining to the use of all technology resources to faculty, staff, and students.

  • Manage and support teachers and students with the schools learning management system.

  • Purchase and maintain digital textbook and subscriptions.

  • Develop and implement a digital literacy curriculum.

  • Work with the technology department to achieve the school’s instructional goals and develop the school’s long-term technology strategy.

  • Provide professional development opportunities to support best practice uses of digital tools, environments, and processes in teaching and learning.

  • Engage in ongoing learning to remain current in emerging technologies, trends, and research, and model effective practice in 21st-century teaching and learning strategies.

  • Support Keystone’s 1:1 program (iPads 5-8/laptops 9-12).

  • Develop and expand Keystone’s STEM curriculum by planning lessons and providing instruction for students in the areas of (but not limited to):

    • Coding (i.e. Scratch)

    • Robotics (i.e. Lego Mindstorms, Vex)

    • Problem/Project-Based Learning

    • Engineering Design Process

  • Lead and develop co-curricular STEM programs, including robotics and engineering.

Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree and/or advanced coursework in instructional technology or related degree.

  • Programming experience with Scratch, Python, and/or other languages.

  • Knowledge of current classroom technologies such as interactive whiteboard software, LMS software, Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps for Education, etc.

  • Knowledge with STEM learning programs including Lego EV3 robotics.

  • Proficiency in managing both Apple (iPad and laptops) and PC devices.

  • Minimum 5 years experience with at least 2 years prior experience in instructional technology
