Ross School is seeking a Director of Innovation Lab @Ross, an academy within Ross School that is designed for students who are passionate about science, mathematics, engineering, media, and technology. Reporting to the Director of Academics and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will be responsible for maintaining congruency between the school’s overall mission and the activities in Innovation Lab and for the development and daily operation of Innovation Lab. The Director is the main administrative point of contact for students, families, faculty, and the public. Responsibilities include designing and implementing a program that directly engages a highly qualified group of students (selected through an application process) in science-, mathematics-, and technology-related research, competitions, and interdisciplinary studies. The Director is actively engaged in the recruitment process and works closely with the Director of Admissions to meet enrollment targets for Innovation Lab.

The Director must also cultivate community relationships with local and remote professionals across the fields of science, mathematics, technology, and engineering who will serve as mentors for original, student-centered, group and individual research projects that allow students to leverage their interdisciplinary thinking for creative and innovative problem solving and design. The Director is also responsible for developing and launching a state-of-the-art academic program across these disciplines that fosters systems thinking and literacy. The Director works closely with the Ross School science, mathematics, and media studies domains and the technology department to maximize interconnections and the development of a strong feeder program from within Ross School.

Other responsibilities include teacher recruitment; ongoing program development and evaluation, developing and maintaining community partnerships for study opportunities, student evaluation and placement, and participation in fundraising efforts. The Director is also responsible for teaching courses in Innovation Lab and other related domains and must be able to teach advanced-level courses within this program. The Director may also serve as the Dean of Science.
