Job Duties:

 

10%Works collaboratively with subject matter experts to manage instructional design projects from inception to completion by developing instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, appropriate integration of instructional technologies, and best practices.
 
20%Provides expertise to faculty by combining learning theory, design practices, and instructional technologies for the development of instructional pedagogies and effective teaching for the diverse needs of learners and learning spaces, both physical and virtual, through one-on-one sessions and group workshops.
 
20%Provides leadership and assistance to the university in planning, designing, and conducting formative and summative program evaluation activities on instructional technology systems to develop reports and work collaboratively on the use and interpretation of educational data.
 
20%Provides leadership and coordination of implementation and ongoing education, both physical and virtual, of university-wide instructional technology systems to deliver these resources to the university in an effective and efficient manner; this includes but is not limited to training, trouble-shooting, support, administration, establishing processes and guidelines, and consulting on use.
 
30%Works collaboratively with academic teams as a pedagogical professional to facilitate educational research and discovery by providing design expertise and measurement tools to improve student achievements and recommend innovative teaching approaches, with the goal being publications and presentations.

 

Job summary: Description: Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of the Office of Instructional Technology and Faculty Resource, the Director of Instructional Technology will lead efforts for conducting educational research and education on instructional technology systems. The Director of Instructional Technology will work collaboratively with individuals and teams across the university to improve student achievements and encourage innovative teaching approaches through research, reporting, and interpretation of educational data. S/he will lead technical procurement, planning, and implementation support for university-wide instructional technology systems. S/he will serve as a liaison for the university on best practices, learning tools, trends, and ideas in educational research and instructional technology. The Director of Instructional Technology will provide technical support and expertise for the ongoing development of systems to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
