Job Description:

Private independent Christian School seeks an energetic, highly motivated Director of Instructional Technology for the 2017-2018 school year. Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and integration of digital learning and corresponding technologies in support of teaching and learning at Landmark Christian School. This administrator works closely with the headmaster, principals, and department leaders in planning, executing, and assessing the appropriate classroom use of emerging technologies. The position supports professional learning by actively researching educational resources, and making recommendations consistent with the school’s mission and overall goals. We recognize that when the student is at school, our faculty and staff stand in the place of the parent. We believe that the role of a Christian school employee is to demonstrate through philosophy and lifestyle his or her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a consistent reflection of Godly character, and a heart to meet the needs of students and staff. The main campus (Fairburn, K-12) currently enrolls 706 students; our Peachtree City campus (K-5) enrolls 98 students for a total enrollment of 804, of which 25% are ethnic minorities. The school is fully committed to culturally diverse faculty, staff and student body.

Essential duties include:

  • Create and communicate instructional technology
  • Ability to assess needs and develop long-range plans for the school’s instructional technology programs
  • Research and recommend appropriate staff, facilities, instructional materials, and equipment to implement the goals of the school’s technology plan
  • Develop school policies and procedures that are consistent with state and national law and standards designed to accomplish program goals and objectives
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars to identify trends, best practices, current, and future standards for instructional technology
  • Establish an ongoing program of professional development in the use of instructional resources, information/research strategies, and technology skills
  • Plan and provide ongoing professional learning opportunities for faculty technology use, in both groups and one-on-one settings
  • Work closely with principals and department leaders to develop, guide, and support curricular innovation, specifically as related to technology integration
  • Maintain a current knowledge of educational technology trends and research, reporting findings and making recommendations to the headmaster, principals, and department leaders
  • Make recommendations to the headmaster, principals, and department leaders regarding learning opportunities related to digital learning
  • Participate in and present at regular faculty meetings as necessary.
  • Such other job related duties as may be assigned by the headmaster

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory, Master’s degree in Instructional Technology preferred
  • Professional experience and qualifications that match the needs and responsibilities of the position
  • Classroom and administrative experience preferred
  • Clear understanding and commitment to the distinctions of Christian education and our school
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, faculty, and parents
  • Well organized with ability to follow-through on communications and decisions
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all school matters
  • Desire to collaborate with colleagues on development and implementation of technology plans
