Florida Institute of Technology is currently searching for a Director of IT/Infrastructure. 

The IT Director / Infrastructure is responsible for the University's information technology strategy and development of telecommunications, networks and information security. They are accountable for planning, designing, implementing, and supporting technology systems that meet the University's technological, business, and academic needs. Evaluates and manages annual budgets for the IT department. May utilize direct reports to fulfill agenda.

Duties:

  • Oversees the information technology strategy for the University, developing and implementing the policies and goals for the Enterprise Systems

  • Plans, designs, implements, and supports technology systems. Participate in campus planning and project management of the Florida Institute of Technology's technological needs

  • Consults with University departments to recommend and implement services, systems, or IT processes to meet their needs. Determines the best use of technical resources and staffing

  • Develops training programs to assist the University community with the effective use of technologies.

  • Develops and manages annual budgets for the department and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.

  • Evaluates future needs, new technologies, and products for the University's use

  • Communicates with users and administrators regarding operations and policy changes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's in Computer Science or Information Technology field preferred.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience required in area of expertise

  • 7+ years of experience in data and voice communication services

  • 5+ years of experience in technical staff management

  • Full knowledge of all network routing protocols

  • Experience in converged telecom and network environments

  • Experience managing large, complex networking and/or telecommunications projects

  • Expert Level of Technical and/or Leadership knowledge, skills, and experience to lead a function/large project(s)

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). Required certification or license must be uploaded when submitting application for employment.
