The Dalton School, an independent, co-educational, K-12, progressive school, seeks an experienced, visionary educator with library, media, technology, teaching, and management skills to fill the position of Director of Libraries and Information Services.

The Dalton School actively seeks to forward diversity through its programs and hiring.

The position requires an MLIS degree, five years of librarian experience and three years of administrative experience. The candidate will have the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and will have demonstrated knowledge of collection development, budget planning, library automation technology, and information resources for three libraries, a museum program, and a school archive, as well as a proven interest in professional development and outreach. The candidate will also bring the capacity to engage in flexible, creative and constructive thinking around the integral roles of libraries and librarians in the digital age. In alignment with the Dalton Plan, the Director will effectively communicate the goals of the library program to students, teachers, administrators, parents, and alumni.
