The Seven Hills School seeks an experienced and personable technology administrator to guide the continuing evolution of an extensive and highly successful technology program for our PreK-12 school. The Director of Technology reports to the Head of School, oversees two full-time and one part-time technology specialists, and consults with four divisional curricular technology coordinators as well as with other school administrators. The school seeks candidates experienced in leading curricular innovation as well as maintaining a complex network of hardware and educational software.

Specific Duties:

To oversee the technological infrastructure of the school, including assisting with the troubleshooting of all hardware, including desktops, laptops, iPads, printers andscanners.
To supervise the school’s network, overseeing design and improvements and to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect network integrity.
To design server configuration to meet academic and administrative needs, to coordinate with tech consultants on implementation and configuration of the servers, to perform basic server configurations and maintenance, and to be responsible for server back-up strategies.
To manage the iPad and laptop programs.
To be responsible for ordering, configuration, distribution, policy creation, implementation and enforcement of iPad and laptop policies
To be responsible for iPad Management, including solutions and configuration, and, when necessary, work with Apple and FileWave engineers.
To approve, purchase and distribute iPad software to students and faculty and to manage iPad insurance and charges.
To be responsible for employee laptop program, including planning, ordering and distribution; to help with configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of laptops.
To manage software solutions and to develop and implement distribution strategies.
To select software solutions to meet academic and administrative goals and needs and to ensure the school’s licensing compliance.
To develop and implement software distribution strategies, and to assist with software distribution.
To manage the Google Enterprise suite, including configuration and settings.
To manage all users’ email, calendars, etc.
To add and distribute Google Apps to meet academic and administrative needs.
To create and distribute instructional sets for all users.
To create and maintain all FileMaker solutions outside the school’s SIS, and to assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of the school’s SIS.
To oversee and manage school’s technology inventory, and to track all technology orders and synchronize with budgets.
To create and maintain lower schools’ reports, and to create and maintain middle/upper school’s course selection.
To work, in concert with other members of the senior administrative team, to ensure the continuing evolution of the school and of its technology programs.
To develop short and long-term plans and strategies so as to ensure an effective vision for the program.
To articulate to all constituencies the philosophy, programs, and expectations of the technology department so that all stakeholders are fully informed and invested.
To develop systems for the on-going evaluation of the program and the introduction of new program elements.
To manage and advocate for the necessary resources to ensure the continuing excellence of the program.
To be a visible presence in relevant areas of school life; to work toward a resolution of all problems, both routine and unique.
To keep the Head of School informed of the programs, activities, and issues relating to the use of technology within the school.
