Job Summary

The Director of Technology fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by working with the Principal and President to support the development of a technology program for the school by evaluating, coordinating and implementing the overall technology program of the school.  The position reports to and is evaluated by the President and operates with wide latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative.

 

Essential Duties

  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.

  • Keep the President and Principal informed of matters related to technology needs.

  • Inform the President of the financial needs of the technology program to be considered in budgeting including costs related to infrastructure, hardware and software for the school.

  • Collaborate with the Principal regarding the selection and implementation of technological support for the instructional program.

  • Plan for the purchase and installation of various classroom technology devices

  • Facilitate the implementation of the Technology Plan, providing annual updates

  • Coordinate the maintenance, operation, management, and configuration of school computers

  • Establish and maintain Cisco/Meraki network (wired and wireless)

  • Support and maintain the school's internet domain and DNS settings

  • Support and maintain Microsoft O365/Azure AD/Intune tenant

  • Support and maintain G Suite for Education account including Google Classroom

  • Support and maintain school owned Windows 10 devices

  • Support and maintain BYOD implementation for student devices

  • Support and maintain various other technologies including wireless screen casting, VOIP phone system, classroom management tools, and network printers

  • Support outside contractors in their work

  • Organize trouble ticket system for faculty and staff and responds in a timely fashion

  • Provide technology support and training for faculty, staff and students

  • Collaborate with Director of Technology from Holy Family Catholic School regarding shared infrastructure and future planning

  • Comply with laws and regulations regarding the use of technology and copyrights

  • Prepare for and conduct end of year technology close out procedures, summer maintenance, and start of school preparation

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 Knowledge of computer science, computer education and technologies.

  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and responding to emergencies.

  • Skill in job-appropriate technology.

   

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.

Experience:

  • Has successful work experience in a technology field

Catholic Requirement:

  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with a commitment to ongoing formation in catechetical and spiritual leadership development.

Certifications and Training:

  • Valid Texas driver's license.

  • Meet TCCB ED Educational Personnel Requirements appropriate to educational assignment.

  • Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
