Oxbridge Academy is seeking an individual to assume technical management responsibility for the coordination, integration, and implementation of technology systems at the school’s West Palm Beach campus. Oxbridge is entering its fifth year as a progressive project-based institution with a one-to-one Macintosh laptop program. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director will evaluate and implement technology solutions to support instructional, administrative, and support services. Additionally, s/he will manage the technical support staff and develop and implement technical solutions for academic and administrative departments.

This is a hands-on technical position with responsibilities that range from technology planning and implementation of system-wide technology solutions, to providing hardware and software support for individual and small groups of users. Experience working in an educational environment is important.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administratively, the Director will work with senior leadership and other constituents to forecast demands and requirements for technology solutions throughout the school. The Director will be expected to collaborate with students, faculty, and other departments along with external partners to present and implement appropriate technology solutions. The Director will work with the CFO to prepare and manage annual budgets to meet Oxbridge’s technical program needs.

The Director is responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Macintosh and Windows computers, servers, laptops, and backup systems. Systematically plans for the development and implementation of new, efficient and effective technology solutions that maximize Oxbridge and other external resources. The Director is expected to interface with the technology team and partners to resolve technical problems, ensure stability, and maintain high availability of all systems.

This includes managing the operation of mission critical systems and technology platforms that include Active Directory, hosted servers running database and communication applications (Veracross, Blackbaud, Microsoft Office365, etc.) and cloud-based collaboration and business applications. The Director will coordinate all vendor support of the security firewall, Cisco Call Manager VOIP system, campus network, and an integrated campus wireless infrastructure.

Oversees the help desk and support function so that staff and students have acceptable technical supports in place. Manage inventory of computers, peripherals, VOIP phones, and audiovisual equipment. Supervises and evaluates three technical staff and external consultants (as needed).

Collaborates closely with the IT team to coordinate technology hardware, software, and digital development to support classrooms, schools, offices, and departments; implements integrated instructional technology programs organization-wide. Ensures Internet safety for students and staff through thoughtful policies and following laws and regulations that govern Internet usage within a school environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Technical certificates from Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, preferred

The position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the development, installation and maintenance of information systems and at least three years in a leadership role with supervisory experience.

• Deep knowledge of computer systems, particularly Apple OSX and Microsoft Windows Server.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate with and work well with all levels within an organization specifically working effectively within the culture and processes common in educational organizations.

• Highly organized with strong project management skills, and drive to meet organizational and departmental objectives; ability to manage projects on interrelated time lines.

• Knowledge of classroom technology including SmartBoards, document cameras, sound systems, projectors, cameras, etc. is essential
