CAIS accredited, PK – 8th grade, French bilingual, East Bay independent school, over 500 students total, seeks a full-time Director of Technology, beginning in July 2016.

The Director of Technology is responsible for the technology infrastructure of the School and reports directly to the Head of School. S/He provides overall strategic direction for all internal information technology including network and computer operations, server, storage, applications, intranet development, security, backup and database systems. In addition, responsibilities include Chairing of the Technology Committee, and providing strategic and visionary leadership in all areas of the use of computer technology.

The Director of Technology needs to be well grounded in the areas of systems administration including backup technologies, server installation and configuration, managing critical data reliability and recovery, MS SQL server, Blackbaud database products, and FilemakerPro. The school uses Windows Server, Apple OSX Server, and Linux open source software. The Director of Technology should also have a good understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols including DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, vlans, and web technologies.

Requirements and necessary skills
•    Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree a plus.
•    A minimum of five years of experience in all of the above key areas.
•    Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, to think and plan strategically and creatively, to meet measurable goals and to manage programs and activities timely and on budget.
•    Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; passion for details, ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure both independently and within a multilingual and multicultural team-oriented environment.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of French a plus.
