Job Description:

Friends School Mullica Hill, a Quaker day school serving students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade, seeks a Director of Technology for the 2017-2018 school year.  This is a twelve month position and includes the following roles and responsibilities:


Technology Teacher (K-8)


  • Plan and evaluate technology curriculum

  • Teach K-8 technology (basic computer skills, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, eResearch, mobile technology, computer science, and digital literacy)

  • Integrate technology skills into special projects and activities

  • Provide technology program orientation for parents, including an overview of technology class (K-8) and the 1:1 iPad program  


Instructional Technologist


  • Provide technology-related professional development for all staff and teachers

  • Plan and budget for technology upgrades and integration into the classroom

  • Train teachers to use technology in their classrooms


Network Administrator


  • Setup and manage on-site servers that provide access to server applications and user data

  • Maintain proper security on the network via firewall and antivirus management

  • Troubleshoot all server, network, and desktop issues

  • Update and upgrade all technology-related devices including iPads and mobile Chromebook carts

  • Collaborate with vendors on technology-related projects


Administrative


  • Member of the administrative team, responsible for making and setting school-wide policies

  • Collaborate with the main office to make financial decisions regarding technology

  • Provide new employees with technology orientation covering daily technology use and school-wide computer and Internet policies

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, significant experience in technology education or a related field, an appreciation for working in a small Quaker school with a diverse population, and completion of required background checks.
