Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is an independent day school from JK-12 that is a caring and thriving community. Director of Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Regular, Full-time 1.0FTE position

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Deputy Head, Academics, the Director of Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship will be a collaborative partner working with various individuals across all three schools – junior, middle and senior – to facilitate the design and delivery of a world class and school wide technology plan as it relates to learning and the student experience. The Director must be a dynamic, trend maker, and influential leader charged with defining and implementing key co-curricular programs relating to technology and entrepreneurship. A hands-on implementer, the ideal candidate is a big picture thinker who seeks opportunities to work with students in areas relating to technology where students will find enjoyment and develop skills, citizenship and appreciation for future careers in this field.  The Director will also work collaboratively with the students, faculty and staff of GNS to support the integration of innovative uses of technology for learning and teaching the existing curriculum.

What You’ll Bring

The Director will possess strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, and the enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain interest in various programs.  We are particularly interested in individuals who have a magnetic personality and experience in integrating technology and entrepreneurial skills into co-curricular and curricular programming; particularly around the topics of: digital art and entertainment (drawing, modeling, animation, video, E-sports), digital music creation, game development (fusion of Design thinking, visual art, sound, writing, programming), app and website development, AI (data, ML, statistics), VR/AR literacy, robotics and automation.

A Bachelor of Education and advanced degree in management, instructional technology, information systems, business, design or related field is highly desirable as is a valid BC teaching certificate, however other skills and experience may be considered.   Leadership experience in the areas of direct supervision, project management, staff training, and committee leadership is also desired and at least five years’ experience collaboratively supporting teaching and learning using technology as a tool.
