Director of Valor STEM

The Director of Valor STEM is responsible for planning, guiding, supporting,
overseeing and showcasing the Valor Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Endorsement Program, including curricular and co-curricular activities, with the goal of
creating and maintaining a world-class high school program reflective of our vision to prepare
tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ.

Develop and Direct the Operational Elements of the Program
• Plan, prepare and be responsible for the execution of an annual operational plan and long-term strategic plan
• Develop, execute and maintain the high school endorsement program for STEM
• Propose and manage an approved annual budget dedicated to Valor STEM
• Assemble and meet with advisory board leaders that can inform strategy and foster support
• Work closely with the Academic Leadership Team (ALT) in evaluating and encouraging lead STEM faculty 

Develop and Direct Co-Curricular Elements of the Program
• Develop engaging co-curricular offerings such as distinctive elective offerings, club initiatives, related competitions and
activities, and unique opportunities
• Collaborate with the Director of Discovery and Outreach to create service and outreach opportunities connected to Valor STEM

Increase Student Engagement and Program Visibility
• Inspire, motivate and engage students in STEM offerings
• Develop student recognition opportunities and events
• Engage parent and potential parent community in all the STEM program has to offer 

Demonstrate a Commitment to Fulfilling Valor’s Vision and Mission
• Be a ‘culture- keeper’

Demonstrate a Commitment to Growth
• Participate in Valor Team meetings, Chapel and weekly meetings with Team/Supervisor
• Demonstrate teachability and receptive to feedback

• Participate in the broader ministry of Valor by contributing of time, talent and treasure beyond assigned role responsibilities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Education:
• B.A. or B.S. in Math, Science, Engineering or Technology
• Master’s Degree or higher preferred

Experience:
• Industry experience in Math, Science, Engineering, and/or Technology

Skills/Abilities:
• Lifelong learner with a drive to keep abreast of the Industry trends
• Skilled in written and oral communication
• Ability to formulate and implement strategic plans
• Ability to develop policy
• Knowledge and experience with administrative procedures
• Knowledge and experience in instructional leadership
• Knowledge and experience in secondary education
• Understanding and foundational ability in computer programming/coding
• Willing, knowledgeable, and capable of embracing and using the latest technology for learning and administration
• All Valor staff must be trusted to maintain confidentiality in all matters of school business
