POSITION SUMMARY

The Hewitt School seeks a full time middle and upper school educational technologist and digital arts teacher as a leave replacement from September 2019 to January 2020.  
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach middle school arts and technology courses in 3-D design and fabrication in the school’s innovation lab and ceramics studio 

  • Support integrated projects and curriculum by working closely with middle and upper school faculty

  • Support the work of the K-12 educational technology team

  • Collaborate with department members on pedagogy and curricular scope and sequence

  • Engage fully in Hewitt’s commitment to implementing current research on girls in the classroom and beyond

  • Write student reports and stay in regular communication with parents

  • Chaperone field trips 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in educational technology or relevant field

  • Teaching experience 

  • Commitment to girls’ education

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

  • Advanced degree in educational technology, design, and/or digital arts

  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-bias education and social justice

  • Inquiry-based pedagogy

  • Culturally responsive approach to teaching

  • Proven dedication to professional growth and purpose-driven practice

  • Professional practice and ability to model contemplation as part of intellectual exploration
