Salisbury Academy is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and student-centered teacher who will design and implement a program expansion in computer science, maker spaces, robotics, and coding. We seek an educator who is willing to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic vision for its technology program and facilitate hands-on experiences through authentic exploration, discovery, inquiry, and problem- solving. Candidates should be skillful in the use of diverse teaching strategies and modes of assessment. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in robotics, technology, and STEM.

Responsibilities:

  •   Develop and oversee the technology curriculum which includes offerings in programming, robotics, maker, and engineering

  •   Serve on educational technology committee and facilitate ongoing conversations and organizational commitment to a strategic vision for technology

  •   Evaluate emerging technologies and guide academic leaders on strategic operational decisions involving instructional technology hardware and software

  •   Teach or co-teach lessons and classes as directed

  •   Design and implement a robust technology integration program and expand

    the areas of coding, robotics, computational thinking, and engineering

  •   Identify and update computer science curriculum changes to be in line with

    national best practices

  •   Design school-wide events/challenges

  •   Lead afterschool club with STEM component

  •   Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

  •   Foster positive relationships with and among parents and students

Qualifications:

  •   Bachelor’s degree in CTE, Education, or Computer Science (077 or 079 certification). Master’s degree preferred. Candidates with previous industry experience are encouraged to apply.

  •   Excellent oral and written communication skills

  •   Ability to work in a team environment
