Job Title:                Educational Technology and Innovation Specialist (Elem)

Reports To:            Director of Teaching and Learning

SUMMARY:

The Educational Technology and Innovation Specialist (Elem) develops, supports, and maintains the effective implementation of digital tools for faculty, staff, and students.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and collaborate to integrate technology across the curriculum.
  • Establish, maintain, and evaluate programs that will enhance the appropriate use of technology for learning, collaboration, and productivity for students and faculty/staff.
  • Maintain and coordinate the use of multimedia and innovation labs.
  • Develop and support digital citizenship and computer science curriculum.
  • Provide tech support to teachers and troubleshoot IT issues when necessary.
  • Work with teachers to integrate the use of Smart Boards and other technology tools in the classroom.
  • Teach courses, such as Coding Language, Robotics, and electives for middle school students.
  • Train and support staff and students in technology platforms essential to teaching and learning (Google Apps for Education, Veracross, etc.).
  • Monitor the School's acceptable use policy to effectively ensure responsible digital behavior and proper care of school-issued devices.
  • Objectively evaluate current and new technologies to find and share the best tools to enhance student learning and augment faculty resources.
  • Monitor the School’s Educational Technology software usage across grade levels.
  • Support the production and technical aspects of school wide events and assist administration with the development of multimedia presentations for these events.
  • Work with the Director of Teaching and Learning to develop faculty training programs and lead professional development.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Operations and Communications and the IT Manager to support the school's online presence.

Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Teaching Credential is preferred.
  • An education-related postgraduate degree, with coursework in computer science, media, or technology is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience in an educational technology capacity is strongly preferred, as is experience working with K-8 students.

Normal hours for the position are Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. An additional two weeks of fall in-service is required for this position. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, FSA, and retirement plan. Competitive salary based on experience.
