St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, a 6-12 day boarding school in Austin, Texas, is hiring for an Educational Technology Coordinator. The ideal candidate has a dedication to lifelong learning, experience with Google Apps for Education, primary or secondary-school teaching experience, previous responsibilities with technology integration, a flexible approach to technology integration, and knowledge of modern pedagogic methods. The successful candidate works closely with teachers and students in and outside the classroom to foster educational innovation, including the integration of technology.

 

This position includes the following responsibilities:  

 

  • Coordinating digital citizenship education for students and those who support students, and finding ways to integrate digital citizenship programming into the curriculum;
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies and their possible use in the program and making recommendations to the Director of Technology regarding changes to software, hardware, services, and processes;
  • Participating in designing and leading professional-development sessions on technology integration for faculty, including in-service days, summer programs, unconferences, and new faculty orientation;
  • Working with school administration on strategic planning for the instructional use of technology;
  • Assisting in determining guidelines or criteria for the use of technology in the classroom and collaborating with faculty on integrating emerging forms of digital learning into the curriculum;
  • Assisting other members of the Technology Department with tech support duties;
  • Team teaching students in the Maker Studio class and organizing maker events;
  • Having advisees, attending daily chapel, and supervising a table during sit-down lunch;
  • Preferably, sponsoring a robotics club.

 

Ideal candidates will possess the following traits:
 
  • Ability to be patient, persistent, creative and adaptable in engaging faculty to integrate pedagogically appropriate technology;
  • A willingness to model and evangelize about new methods of learning and instruction;
  • Competence with creating audio-visual content;
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac platforms;
  • Familiarity with SAMR and TPACK;
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and Maker Ed, Gamification and the Four Cs.

 

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to technology
  • Significant experience with technology integration
  • Google Education Trainer or Google Certified Teacher certification
  • Primary or secondary school teaching experience
