Position Responsibilities

The Educational Technology Coordinator configures educational technology tools and content to meet student and program learning objectives. This position provides technical assistance and resolves educational technology (edtech) problems for faculty and staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Primary responder to requests for edtech support and troubleshooting assistance

  • Upload and embed content onto learning management systems and platforms as directed

  • Configure instructional materials to enhance student learning

  • Set-up educational technology tools for use in courses and training

  • Capture and load videos on to University video management systems

  • Provide level 2/3 support to IT Help Desk personnel on educational technologies

  • Serve as a liaison to program coordinator staff on educational technologies

  • Provide 1:1 training to faculty and staff on educational technologies

  • Author edtech instructions and job aids

  • Direct the workload and projects of student intern(s)

  • Test new edtech feature sets and tools

  • Assess student usability, experience and access in all projects

  • Maintain educational technology team documentation

Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Blackboard 9.1 or other LMS

  • Proficiency with Google Suite for Higher Education

  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint or other presentation tool

  • Familiarity with screen capture and annotation tools

  • Ability to manage and organize large volumes of documents, media and files

  • Develop custom and canned replies to requests for edtech assistance

  • Ability to set priorities and manage support workloads to meet project deadlines

  • Willingness to learn new technologies

  • Demonstrated patience with faculty that do not share an interest in technology

  • Comfortable speaking, communicating and contributing on project teams

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, technology or related area preferred
  • 1-2  years’ experience with educational technology preferred
