Gould Academy, an independent boarding school of 220 students, grades 9-PG, in Bethel, Maine, seeks an Educational Technology Integrator to join our Western Maine community, working collaboratively with faculty and independently within the technology team.

The Educational Technology Integrator works to match students and faculty with the best technologies not just to enable the learning process, but also to enrich it. Whenever possible, the goal is to provide detailed and targeted instruction to assist someone learning the tools/process for creating their own content, rather than simply gathering needs, and creating the content for the student or teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, working with teachers, and working with a team of technology professionals dedicated to the mission of educating students.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

General:

  • Support the school’s mission and culture

  • Have good attendance

  • Be a positive team player

Students:

  • Manage student technology issues as promptly as possible. Communication and follow-through should be detailed and prompt.

  • Facilitate support and training for students to effectively utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Apps for Education, and Learning Management Systems.

Faculty:

  • Collaborate with teachers through observation and curriculum discussions to support student and faculty technology use

  • Facilitate installation, support, and training for faculty to effectively utilize the available educational software and services including Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Apps for Education, and Learning Management Systems

  • Facilitate and manage peripheral technology that can be used in a classroom setting to create subject matter or enrich the learning experience

  • Facilitate installation, support, and training for faculty to effectively utilize content creation tools so that every teacher can deliver a multisensory, accessible curriculum

  • Help with general technology literacy, vet, and provide documentation and self-help resources

Other Duties:

  • Provides tier 1 technical support for all users of technology at the school

  • Engage in professional development opportunities to bring new technology and methods to Gould

  • Collaborate with your team members on technology initiatives

  • Maintain documentation and resources

Qualification Requirements:

  • A BA/BS in a technology education-based field, or a BA/BS with a certification in some form of education or technology

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Appreciation for and comfort with adolescents

  • Ability to get along with co-workers and other school community members

  • Successfully pass a background check and obtain CHRC clear status from the State of Maine Department of Education

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt position. The school provides cost sharing for medical and dental insurances, free life insurance, meals, and a generous retirement plan contribution.
