Far Brook School is seeking a motivated, innovative, and collaborative teacher to teach technology to grades 2-8 and support teachers with their technology integration. A strong candidate will embrace Far Brook's unique progressive, multidisciplinary, and collaborative approach. Far Brook teachers contribute to a supportive and caring environment in which students learn and interact positively with one another. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver technology curriculum for grades N-8 that covers digital citizenship, computer literacy skills, robotics/programming, makerspaces/STEAM

  • Teach weekly technology classes to grades 2-8

  • Collaborate with teachers to thoughtfully and purposefully integrate technology relevant to their curriculums

  • Research and evaluate new educational digital tools 

  • Develop Professional Development workshops and provide multiple opportunities for faculty to learn about evolving technologies at Far Brook

  • Provide faculty, students, and families troubleshooting and training support

  • Work closely with the Director of Technology to support all School members, inform technology budget, and assess implementation of best practices for educational technology

  • Roll out and manage a new 1-to1 program for all students (iPads and Chromebooks)

  • Organize parent/community events to learn more about technology and safety

  • Manage educational programs and subscriptions (examples: GSuite for Education, Seesaw, Freckle, IXL, Keyboarding Without Tears, etc.)

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or in a related field, a Master’s Degree preferred 

  • Interest in professional growth and schoolwide initiatives

  • A minimum of 3+ years of teaching experience 

  • In-depth knowledge of GSuite for Education, Apple technologies, and educational digital tools/platforms

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Desired Experience:

  • Training in diversity practices 

  • Teaching with a distance learning model
