POSITION OVERVIEW
The Education Technology Specialist works closely with students, teachers, and administrators to ensure responsible and effective use of a variety of technologies, media, and data sources. The Educational Technology Specialist serves faculty and students across three divisions on two campuses, as well as an educational leadership team that depends on timely data and analysis from educational applications and school-wide systems. The Educational Technologist reports to the Chief Curriculum and Program Officer and works in close collaboration with the Librarian, Instructional Dean, Instructional Leader for Innovation and Fabrication, and Director of Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a collaborative process to develop a 6-12 strategic vision and curricular arc for technology that is aligned to the school’s overall strategic plan, values, culture, and individual departmental needs.
  • Oversee the implementation of the above strategy and integration of the curricular arc into core disciplines and other parts of the curriculum.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Technology and Instructional Dean, evaluate emerging technology and assessment tools and support instructional leaders in decisions involving instructional technology hardware, software, and programs.
  • Support remote, hybrid, and blended learning needs and initiatives.
  • Inspire the faculty community to model and support best practices in innovation, technology integration, instructional design, and data-driven decision making.
  • Design, deliver, and oversee professional development and growth experiences for faculty and staff in areas of technology integration and instructional design.
  • Promote and demonstrate the use of new technologies, media, and data to students and adults.
  • Design processes for effectively collecting, reporting, and analyzing data in order to identify and support educational priorities and initiatives.
  • Engage with students and faculty in the classroom, in the library, through office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs, and school-wide programming.
  • Teach or co-teach two courses at a time.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor to a group of 10-12 students.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in the fields of education, information literacy, research, and technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An understanding of the diverse technology needs and organizational complexities of a large, high-achieving, multidivisional, and independent school.
  • Proficiency with educational technology platforms tools.
  • Training or teaching experience, preferably in a 6-12 school, and a track record of successfully leveraging technology to improve instruction and learning outcomes.
  • Experience leading workshops, trainings, projects, and new initiatives related to technology integration that are aligned with an organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • The ideal candidate will be collaborative, inclusive, patient, organized and flexible.
