The Hillside School, located in Macungie, PA is seeking a part-time Technology Integration Specialist/Teacher.
Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students, teachers, staff, and parents

  • Develop whole class instruction for students and teacher training in Assistive Technology, Google Drive, coding, videography, software, internet safety/cyberbullying, etc.

  • File E-Rate forms and keep on top of deadlines, requirements and legal constraints associated with the E-Rate program

  • Research and evaluate new developments in educational technology particularly for students with language-based learning disabilities

  • Preview and test hardware, software and websites for possible use at The Hillside School, complete cost analysis for each and purchase

  • Troubleshoot minor software and hardware issues (when Junction PC is not on site) and assist Junction PC when they have to remote into a computer

  • Communicate with vendors

  • Prepare documentation for grant proposals as requested/needed

  • Maintain technology records and equipment inventory

  • Create technology budget and maintain detailed records for annual audit

  • Manage and administer online subscriptions for students (including enrollment, withdrawals, etc.)

  • Spearhead technology initiatives that support teaching and learning

  • Provide curriculum assistance regarding device usage, software applications, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom

  • Perform related duties as assigned/required

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or Computer Science

  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology hardware, software, and related web-based or other tools

  • Demonstrated success working with colleagues to identify instructional needs to enable/enhance student learning

  • Classroom teaching experience preferred

  • Fluency and proficiency with Google Apps for Education

  • Strong organizational, technical, and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
