Instructional Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a technology curriculum for students in grades K–6 that fosters digital literacy, responsible internet use, keyboarding, and basic coding.
  • Integrate project-based learning and cross-curricular technology applications (e.g., in science, math, ELA).
  • Support teachers in incorporating educational technology into their classrooms.
  • Teach students responsible digital citizenship and online safety.
  • Evaluate and report on student progress through report cards and parent communication.

Technology Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and functioning of all school-owned devices (Chromebooks, iPads, desktops, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting and coordinate with external IT vendors when necessary.
  • Manage device inventory, updates, and software licensing.
  • Administer and support the school’s learning management systems, Google Workspace for Education, and educational apps.
  • Ensure data security and appropriate content filtering across all devices.
  • Support the setup of tech needs for school events, testing, and presentations.
  • Maintain up-to-date technology policies and collaborate on tech planning and budgeting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, computer science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching experience at the elementary level, ideally with a focus on technology or STEM.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education, Chromebooks, iPads, and classroom tech tools.
  • Familiarity with network systems, cloud-based platforms, and basic IT troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

Regular attendance is a necessary function. Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students. While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, and may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
