Job Summary

Serve as a technical coordinator for all existing, new and emerging technologies for Technology Center Consulting (TCC). Provides technical expertise and develops training for TCC staff on emerging technologies used in Student Technology Centers. Collaborates with University Information Technology Services (UITS) and external partners, develops plans, and formulates strategies to ensure best practices for delivery of emerging technologies to the customer base through Technology Center Consulting staff.

Provides expert leadership on emerging technologies, to include IUAnyWare, Box, Cloud Computing, DUO, and all future technologies. Participates in marketing and education of users on these products, as well as developing technical training materials for TCC staff. Coordinates pilot-testing, and oversees deployment of various emerging technology hardware in Student Technology Centers and Residential Technology Centers as it relates to user operations. Facilitates testing of new equipment and provides feedback to UITSpartners.

Provides leadership in Social Networking platforms, to include Facebook and Twitter, to promote emerging technologies and consulting services to students, staff, and faculty.

Responsible for a leadership role in Problem Reporting and troubleshooting in the Student Technology Centers, and Residential Technology Centers at IUB and IUPUI. Oversees all student appointments for one-on-one technical assistance in the Residential Technology Centers. Coordinates efforts with TCC Consultant Supervisors and Tech Team consultants to provide advanced troubleshooting of faulty equipment in Residential Technology Centers and Student Technology Centers. Serves as liaison to Leveraged Services (LS) when advanced troubleshooting/equipment replacement is required. Facilitates TCCresponsibility on first look at problem reports in Student Technology Centers. In collaboration with LS, TCC will assist with Summer Upgrades, Special Projects, and Printing services as required.

Responsible for all technical documentation as it relates to Technology Center Consulting Services.

Supervises TCC Technical Lead in their oversight of the TCC Tech Team as it relates to networking and security issues in campus housing, and LS.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and two years of demonstrated expertise in consulting on information technology solutions.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated competence through a record of success that includes one or two years experience managing and supervising employees. Working knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems. Technical expertise in Cloud computing, Microsoft Office Suite, Creative Suite 6, applications. Familiarity with web based applications and HTML. A strong user support background and effective interpersonal skills. Excellent communications skills, speaking, listening, and contending. Able to work with a team. Analytical skills for evaluating and interpreting emerging technology trends. Excellent judgment skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and constantly changing demands. Able to work effectively in a multitasking environment.
