At The Benjamin School we believe that good teachers set high standards for their students and then do everything they can to help them achieve those standards.  We are looking for teachers who will help our students become self-directed, independent learners with superior academic collegiate skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to incorporate several styles of teaching and use varied approaches to the students and material.  This person must have a desire to work with students in a challenging, college-preparatory environment and should possess strong interpersonal and written communications skills.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate a passion for engineering and computer science, an intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, the ability to work within a team, skills to engage and inspire students in the pursuit of learning and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The engineering/computer science teacher works closely with the other computer teacher to supervise Benjamin’s award-winning robotics team in the 10-80 and Vex regional and national competitions.  The teacher we will hire will need to work regularly after school with the Benjineers and attend some competitions on weekends. This person will also oversee an Engineering Certificate program that honors graduating seniors who have completed a series of engineering related courses.

The person filling this position will need to teach some sections of Introduction to Computer Science and engineering, the specifics of which will depend on the individual talents that the candidate brings to Benjamin.
